Hotel Las Dunas

Lovely quiet oasis from the surrounding busy area. Huge bedroom. We had kingsize with a patio/ Lakce view. Good range for breakfast although the juice drinks were watery. The lunch was fabulous quality. Staff friendly and very helpful. It's 20 mins taxi into the town centre. The centre was tanned with thousands of teen school kids at 7pm! Not sure that's worth the trip as the hotel food was fab. Beautiful pools, adult and children ones. There's daily entertainment for children, plus table tennis, volley ball net, etc. We went end May, was very quiet. Bed super comfy, fab showers. Perfect for relaxing! We did the dune buggying in Huacachina so stayed here as a base. Having been to the youthful noisey Huacachina, I'm so glad we stayed here!!

The pool slide was a hit for my 7 year old. The staff also tried to put together some activities during the day like archery, games, dancing, etc. The staff let us check in early, which was a god sent after traveling for 13 hours on a bus from Arequipa. There are so many things for kids, there's horseback ridding. All types of sports and biking, multiple pools. The staff was amazing, Luis 1, 2, and 3 work at the restaurant and bars. The spa and gym are also in great step, and the spa is reasonably priced. The al a cart menu is well seasoned and has a decent spread. It is a small resort, so anything more than 3 nights will probably get monotonous.

When we booked the hotel, we hadn’t realised it was a family resort. At first we were a bit shocked, but it turned out to be a great place! Nice rooms, with good beds and shower. Even een small balcony. Very nice resort facilities - clearly focused on families with kids but we didn’t feel out of our comfort zone (it was still pretty quiet, so things may be diferent in the high season?). As we had been travelling from one place to the other, this was a welcome and relaxed place.

The location was great for the sand buggy and sand boarding, about 20 mins from the spot. The hotel is very comfortable, the staff is super friendly, a lot of activities in terms of sports and games, the overall stay was great! The food is so good too!

An old timey experience. Pretty much out of the eighties/nineties, but still very good. We loved the multiple poopls and activities, and we had to book last notice because of a mishap at another place. Las Dunas helped us get a solution.
